Tom Danowski, Executive Director
Tom Danowski is a proven marketing and strategy thought-leader with exceptional experience from icon global companies including Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods and the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. He was also part of a turnaround team at Cutter & Buck that resurrected the golf apparel brand resulting in a Harvard Business School case study.

Tom has successfully served as a Chief Marketing Officer and as a C.O.O. with operating responsibility for divisions of publicly-traded and private-equity owned companies. His background enables him to build out and lead teams that quickly connect strategic imperatives with business results.

Tom's portfolio includes consulting clients as diverse as Microsoft, Filson and REI. He contributes on brand strategy to National Public Radio, and has been sourced for articles in Fortune and Entrepreneur magazines. He blogs and has appeared regularly to comment for KING-5 television and NW Cable News. Tom also lectures regularly at the University of Washington's Foster School and the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business on brand management and strategy.

He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Journalism (concentration in advertising) from the University of Oregon.

Margaret Bray, Education and Events Manager
Margaret Bray joined the wine board in November 2012 as Events and Export Coordinator and was then promoted to Assistant Marketing Manager in 2013. Prior to that, she had been working with OWB as an independent contractor supporting the Oregon Wine Symposium (OWS). 

Margaret comes with a diverse background and career path that provides a foundation for her role.  She started as a Corporate Flight Attendant immediately moving to the position of Lead Flight Attendant. She was in charge of all cabin logistics on the aircraft, managing a team of eleven, working closely with royalty, foreign dignitaries and heads of state and was required to travel to, and do business in more than 35 countries. After her time flying, Margaret relocated to Tuscany, where she worked in various positions in the tourism industry. These experiences have resulted in a natural transition into her role at the Oregon Wine Board where she manages the educational efforts, including the OWS, as well as the export program.

Margaret is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with concentrations in Marketing and Finance. She is a dedicated Italophile which has led her to study at various Italian institutions achieving a fluency in the language. She has a passion for reading, traveling, history, soccer and of course wine.

Jess Willey, Marketing Manager
Jess Willey joined the Oregon Wine Board in May 2014, shortly after moving to Oregon from New York City. Her marketing experience includes seven years at Unilever, a global consumer packaged goods company, managing food and beverage brands in the U.S. and the U.K.  Most recently, Jess was a brand manager for wine and spirits importer Palm Bay International, managing marketing and promotional programs for a portfolio of Italian, Portuguese and Chilean wine brands.

Jess studied engineering as an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business. She has also completed the Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level 2 and Level 3 programs, completing both with distinction.

When not working to promote Oregon wine, Jess can be found at live music shows, exploring other countries, hiking in the hills, and getting acquainted with her newly adopted hometown of Portland. 

Rose Cervenak, Executive Assistant and Office Operations Manager
Rose Cervenak is a high-energy, dynamic individual possessing a unique combination of skills in executive administrative services, office management and event coordination. She graduated from Arizona State University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration/Administrative Services. In 1990, she moved to Oregon with her husband Rick and began working at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide as an Administrative Assistant. She quickly proved her skills and was promoted to Executive Assistant, a position she held in various capacities for 17 years, culminating with her role as Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer. Rose possesses excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.  She processes information quickly and applies a creative mind to problem-solving; working calmly under pressure, Rose brings these and many other skills to bear in her support of the Oregon Wine Board and the industry at large.

Michelle Kaufmann, Assistant Communications Manager
Michelle Kaufmann, a native Oregonian, graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene, in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications and Cinema Studies. While in college, Michelle interned with the Southwestern Company, one of the country's oldest direct marketing firms, as a direct salesperson working with rural families on educational needs in Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas and Wyoming. Prior to college, she worked at Freightliner Trucks LLC in the Portland office as a data technician from 2004-2006.

Michelle came to the Oregon Wine Board in June 2011 as a communications intern and joined full time as Communications and Interactive Media Coordinator in September 2011. She works on all media outreach and marketing events. She also manages OWB's mobile application directory and social media.
